You will be taken to a walk through the highlights of Albania. In this trip you will discover Albania, in its more representative sites, historical cities, museums, cultural places and traditional restaurants. There are a lot attractive, unique and authentically thing from the undiscovered Albania. We will visit the UNESCO sites of Berat, Gjirokastra and Butrint.
Day 1: Airport – Tirana
Arrival at “Mother Teresa” Airport, meet &greet by our represantive and transfer to hotel. Visit the National Historic Museum in Tirana offering an in-depth introduction to Albanian History from prehistoric times to present day, and after we will have a visit of Statue of Scanderbeg on the Scanderbeg Square, the Et’hem Bey Mosque at the center, the Clock Tower next to the Et’hem Bey Mosque and some of the government building along the main Bulevard. Welcome dinner at a traditional Albanian restaurant with live music. Overnight in Tirana.
Day 2: Tirana – Berat
After breakfast we will visit the Bunkart a former military base, a large secret bunker that Albania’s communist regime built in the 1970s to survive a nuclear bombe. We continue to Durresi, where we will a have the lunch in a fish restaurant. After the lunch we visit the amphiatetre of Durresi and the Archaelogical museum, located in the middle of the modern city and after that we continue to Berati. After the check in into the hotel, Afterwards we have a walk in the neighbourhood called “Mangalem” and visit the ethnographic museum. We continue our tour to the Castle and Onufri museum. People are still living within the walls of the castle, just like their ancestors did. Overnight in Berati.
Day 3: Berat –Ardenice – Apolloni – Vlore – Llogara
After breakfast, we will have a short sightseeing of the city, before departure to Llogora. On the way to we visit Ardenica and Apollonia. Ardenica is an Orthodox monastery built in the 13th century. It is thought that it was in the idyllic place that the marriage of the Albania national Scanderbeg was celebrated in the 15th century. After Ardenica we proceed to Apollonia, situated an the Famous via Egnatia.. We continue to Apollonia City, where we can visit the old monastery, the antic city of Apolonia, Amphitheater. We will have the lunch in a traditional restaurant in Fieri. After lunch we continue our trip to Llogara, on the way we will have visit to Vlora, where we will visit the House Museum of the Flag, where the flag was raised and was proclaimed the independence of the Albanian state, and who served as the first headquarters of the Albanian government. Visit the monument of independence and cemetery of Ismail Qemali, Prime Minister and founder of the Albanian state. Continue with a brief sightseeing tour of the city and then continue our trip to Llogora National Park, we proceed for the hotel accommodation. Dinner with traditional food of the area. Overnight in Llogora.
Day 4: Llogora – Sarandë – Butrint
After breakfast, we will have a short walk among Park, and enjoy the magnificient view of the dramatic mountain in one side the the seat in the other side. Afterward, departure to Antic city of Butrinti. On the trip we will enjoy the view of the villages Palase, Dhermi, Ilias, Vuno, the small beautiful town of Himara, and than to have a stop on Porto Palermo ex-military base, and built from Ali Pasha, the governor of the Ionanina district, during the XIX century. After we continue to Saranda, and enjoyein the view of the Riviera with the other villages, Qeparo, Borsh, Lukova. We will have the lunch in Saranda in a fresh fish restaurant. After lunch we continue to the Butrinti antic city, an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. Tour will take around 2.5 -3 hrs. After we turn back to Saranda, where we will have the accomodation in hotel. Afternoon&evening at leisure. Overnight in Saranda.
Day 5: Saranda – Gjirokastër
After breakdast, we will have a walk on the promenade of the Saranda. Afterward we depart to Gjirokastra. On the way we visit the Blue Eye spring, formed by underground springs. Our trip continues to ancient city of Hadrianopuli built during the the Roman Period(2-1 b.c) was a fortified settlement named Hadrianoupolis in the region, named after the Roman emperor Hadrian. After lunch we continue to Gjirokastra, where ther we visit the castle of Gjiorokastra, the largest castle of Albania, and the weapon Museum inside this castle. We will also pay a visit to the Ethnographic Museum, which is located in the house where the Albanian ex-dictator (Enver Hoxha) was born. The group is then left for leisure to explore the rest of the city. Dinner in a tradionial restaurant acompanied by the music of Isopoliphony, another intangible Unesco World Heritage. Overnight in Gjirokastra.
Day 6: Gjirokastra -Durrës – Lezha – Shkodra
After breakfast, there will be some time to stroll along the old bazaar of Gjirokastra before departure to Shkodra. On the way it will be a short stop in Lushnja, where we will visit the House of Congress, where it was a reunion on the foundation of the modern state of Albania, and where it was finally decided that the capital of Albania will be Tirana. We will have lunch in Kavaja, in a well-known fish restaurant. After lunch, we continue to Shkodra. On the way, we will have a short stop in Lezha, where we will visit the castle of Lezha and the Tomb of Scanderbeg, the National Hero of Albania. We will continue to Shkodra and we will be accommodated in hotel. Free time and preparation for dinner in a traditional restaurant. Overnight in Shkodra.
Day 7: Shkodra – Kruja – Tiranë
After breakfast, we will have a walk in the Piazza in the Center, an old neighbourhood of the city; we will visit the Marubi Photo Museum, Castle of Rozafa. On the way to Kruja, we will have lunch in a farm with fresh and bio food. After lunch we will continue to Kruja, where we will visit the Castle of Kruja, the Ethnographic Museum and the National Museum of Scanderbeg. Free Shopping in the old Bazaar of Kruja (souvenirs, traditional handmade products. Departure to Tirana. Accommodation in Hotel. Free time for leisure with some suggestions about the recreation places of the capital. Overnight in Tirana.
Day 8: Tirana – Rinas
After breakfast, we will have a walk on the Blloku area, the residential of the political bureau of communism, and then we will see the house of the ex-dictator Enver Hoxha, and the dictature symbols in the main boulevard. Transfer to the airport. This is the end of our tour service.
