Description of the Tour:
This is a tour dedicated to the wine lovers and dainty people. Albania, is a small country, but with a lot of authentic grape variety, from which delicious wines are produced.
Program:
Day 1: Preze – Lezhe
After arrival at ‘’Mother Teresa’’airport, we will set off to Preza, where we will visit and taste the wine, which is produced in one of the canteens found in this area. Lunch in a traditional restaurant which is located in Prezë. Then, we will depart to the city of Lezha, where we will visit the Castle of Lezha and the most well-known canteen found in Albania, the one of Kallmet. Later on, we will set off to Mrizi i Zanave, where we will have dinner and get accommodated.
Day 2: Lezhë –Shkodër – Koplik –Durrës
After breaksfast in the inn, we will explore the surrounding area and we will depart to Shkodra. Our first stop will be in the Castle of Rozafat. After the introduction with the history of this castle, we will enjoy lunch in one of the traditional restaurants in Shkodra. After lunch, we will set off to Koplik, where we will visit the canteen called “Miqësia”. Then, we will depart to Durrës. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: Durrës – Lushnje –Berat
After breakfast in the hotel, an introductory visit in the city, including the Byzantine walls of the city, the Roman amphitheatre. We cannot leave without visiting the processing plant of “Skanderbeg” cognac, a plant which was inaugurated for the first time in 1960. “Skanderbeg” cognac is a registered international brand. After tasting the famous cognac, we will have lunch in a famous fish restaurant in Kavaja. After lunch, we will set off to the city of Berat. Along the way we will stop in the city of Lushnja, where we shall see the canteen of Kokla wine, which is found in this city. Later on, we will continue our trip to the city of Berat. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.
Day 4: Berat – Narte
After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the Castle, Onufri Museum and several churches and mosques. In the center of the city, we will visit the Mosque of Plumb, the Mosque of the King, the Mosque of the Singles, and the small mosque of Alveti.
After the visits to the castle, we will visit the most well-known canteens found in this city, “Luani” Canteen and then Çobo Canteen, where we shall have lunch. Then, we will set off to Narta, with a stop in Ardenica, an Orthodox Monastery, the greatest in Albania, which belongs to the thirteenth century. Furthermore it is the place where Skanderbeg, our National Hero has celebrated his marriage. After Ardenica, we will visit Apolonia, on of the most famous archaological sites of Albania. Then we will continue the way to Narta. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 5: Nartë – Përmet
After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart in order to explote this lagoon, as well as enjoy the best Albanian wine, which is produced in this area. After tasting the wine in the canteen, we will enjoy the traditional lunch of Narta and then, we will travel to the city of Permet. Along the way, we will make a short stop in Këlcyrë, a picturesque place by Vjosa river. We will continue the way to Përmet. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 6: Permet – Leskovik – Korçë
After breakfast, we will visit the city, the stone of the city (symbol of this city), and we will enjoy the panoramic view of the city extended in the valley of Vjosa with crystal water and Dhëmbel Mountain on the back. We will depart towards the unique nut jam processing workshop in Permet. You will immediately spot the varieties of nut jams, which are prepared with much love by the women of Permet. After the visit at the workshop of nut jams, we will visit another workshop which processes the famous Albanian raki. We continue the way to Leskovik, with a short stopover at the Thermal Waters of Bënje and Medieval Bridge of “Ura e Dashit” built on these waters. Lunch at a traditional restaurant in this road alignment. Upon arrival in Leskovik, we will taste the famous wine of Leskovik, and we will continue our way to Korça. We perform the accommodation procedures at the hotel and get prepared for the dinner at a restaurant with traditional meal and serenades (typical famous music of Korça).
Day 7: Korçë – Pogradec – Librazhd – Tirana
After breakfast, we will have a sightseeing tour in the city and then set off to Pogradec, in order to have another tour of tasting wine, in a canteen of this city, which is among the first enterprises after the ‘90s. We continue the way to Tirana. After accommodation, we prepare for tasting another wine, in a farm outside Tirana, and we will have dinner. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Tirana – Airport
After breakfast, we will have a sightseeing tour in Tirana, where we will visit “Block” area, the former residence of communist conduct which has been transformed in a very lively area with businesses, bars and night clubs and it is mostly attended by young people, we will walk across the boulevard with buildings on both sides, we will visit the Skanderbeg Square with surrounding objects, the mosque of Tirana, the Clock Tower, the Statue of Skanderbeg. After such introductory tour of the city we will depart to the airport in order to finish this trip.
